In a plot twist more suited to a Hollywood script than regulatory housekeeping, the SEC has found itself in the hot seat over missing texts from Chair Gary Gensler's government phone. An internal mishap wiped out a year's worth of messages from a crucial period in the cryptocurrency saga, including the dramatic FTX collapse and the Grayscale Bitcoin ETF lawsuit.
